Batong Malunhaw Beach Resort (“green stone” in Cebuano language) is a local government operated resort in Sangi, Alegria in Cebu Province.

The beach front of this facility is a marine sanctuary and under the protection of the LGU (Local Government Unit) and DENR (Department of Environment and Natural Resources).

The area is filled with green plants and trees, especially behind the accommodation where you can do strolling and walking.

The facilities are basic but good enough for groups, barkadas, or families to avail for a day or overnight stay.

The good thing is that guests are allowed to bring their own provisions, which is economical and ideal for budget holidays.

It takes about 3 hours to get to Batong Malunhaw resort, but could be an interesting trip by the seaside road.

Fun & Interesting Activities & Environment

Batong Malunhaw Resort is just 15 minutes from the famous Kawasan Falls located in the neighboring Badian Town. You can dip in the water or climb up until the third level of this falls!

Eco-Tourism
Being a resort supported by an environmental agency, it promotes eco-tourism activities especially to its visitors. So, around this area, you’ll find lots of natural sites which are worth visiting and enjoying.

Some sites include: Cambais Falls in Barangay Valencia, Cancalanog Mountain Resort, Kanlaob Mountain Resort in Barangay Compostela, Quitarra River & Forest in Guadalupe.

Pavilion
You can have a scenic and romantic wedding in this area. Actually, Alegria is popular for wedding and other events because of the area’s gorgeous environment. Meetings, seminars, and other social events are welcome to happen in this resort.

Swimming Pool
It is deep enough for adult and anyone who can swim. Probably not very friendly to children unless parents and adults would watch them closely.

Snorkeling area
The beach in front of the resort is great for snorkeling. So, come and bring your snorkeling gears and discover underwater life.

ACCOMMODATION / ROOM

Here are the rooms available in case you decide to stay overnight or more…
For Air-conditioned Family Room, the rate is Php1-2000. A day use is only 40-100 pesos.
For an Air-conditioned Room for 2 guests, the rate is 750-1000 pesos a night.

Take a bus (coach) from Cebu South Bus Terminal bound for Bato via Barili and get off at Alegria Town. If you are from Mactan-Cebu International Airport, you can take a taxi from there (use meter or deal first for the charge).

Second method of getting there: Take a V-hire (van for hire) from Cebu City link until Moalboal Town. From there you have to take a multicab (smaller  than a jeepney) that will bring you to Alegria.

The bus fare is about PhP150-200 and above. Ceres Bus is one among many bus companies available at the terminal.
